What is Transformational Food Coaching?

Transformational Food Coaching – TFC is a combination of Food Coaching and Life Coaching. Because food is at the heart of everything we feel, say and do, every goal we set should start with good fuel. I learned that the hard way. Every time I set out to play for my dream, I lacked energy and motivation, I depended on my mood a lot. Once I became more aware of my relationship with food and I changed the way I ate, I tapped into my energy resources and it was a lot easier to reach the much-desired flow state. Right now, you’re probably thinking that I suddenly changed my diet to include only salads, kale and all those horror-inducing foods that go through your head. As someone who’s been into food all their life, who is passionate about baking and cooking, I can assure you that is not the case. A balanced diet means self-awareness, basic nutrition knowledge, eating what you love and enjoying food and probably most important of all – no restrictions! So what TFC does is help you transform your relationship with food and your life so that you have the energy and the drive to play for your life’s dream.

As a Transformational Food Coach, I am here to guide you and empower you to make the best possible choices for yourself. I am not here to give you solutions, tell you what to eat or how to approach the issues you are facing. It’s not about looking back to see what’s wrong, it’s about looking forward to see what can be improved and what are the dreams in which you want to invest your energy.

No matter what your dream is, it starts with you waking up and appreciating who and where you are. Good, nourishing food is the fuel for all your future steps. Add to that some empowering beliefs, a little exercise, good sleep, human connection, even some gratitude and you have the perfect game plan. Are you ready to make a transformation?

How does this go?

While the spirit of play is essential in every transformation process, it’s also important to have a game plan that keeps you on track and serves as a reminder of where you are and what you want to achieve. Naturally, some steps happen naturally in any transformation and we will explore all of them together.

1. Identify what you want to change.

It’s usually easy to decide you want to take steps to transform your relationship with food and implicitly your life. It takes some introspection and self-awareness to discover your motivation.

2. Discover your strengths.

We all have innate abilities that act as superpowers in our transformational journey. While you might be aware of some of them, it’s not unusual to have blind spots. Those hidden resources that you are not tapping into.

3. Create a game plan.

“Where do I start?” is what keeps us on hold most of the times. A great plan is the first step towards transformation. Together, we will create the best plan to help you transform your relationship with food.

4. Learn how to overcome challenges.

You never reach a point where everything is stress-free and there are no challenges to overcome. You can only move forward when you accept that you can’t control everything, you can merely influence what happens around you. But the best way to deal with challenges is to plan and create strategies so that you are always equipped to face them.

5. Celebrate the results.

We are so focused on the bigger picture that we often forget to celebrate the small steps, the median objectives. It’s easy to feel like you achieved nothing if you only focused on what you haven’t achieved yet. Nothing happens overnight. Together, we’ll take the time to look back at how much you’ve accomplished on the way to your big dream.

About Me

I’ve always been passionate about food, but I never felt like my relationship with food was a healthy one. I ate too many sweets, I ate my feelings, I ate all of the bad days, my failures, my challenges. Well…you get the idea. What I ate and how I ate had nothing to do with the food itself, but with what I was trying to hide deep down inside me. And soon this chaotic relationship with food started affecting my decisions, my motivation, my desire to take action in any area of my life. Of course, it took me a good 30 years to realize that what I ate impacted my life at such a wide scale. I’d be lying if I said things are perfect now (spoiler alert: they never are!), but I learned to identify patterns, to shed off some limiting beliefs, to look at food differently and, more importantly, to accept that in order to succeed in other areas of my life, I need to have a  Ryan Reynolds-Blake Lively type of relationship with what’s on my plate. As unbelievable as that sounds, yes, food is at the base of your decisions, your mood, your motivation, your self-care routine. You are what you eat is starting to make so much sense, isn’t it?

Successful Transformations

This experience heavily improved my relationship with food and further expanded my knowledge when it comes to my body’s reactions to certain food items. It’s a refreshing feeling when you learn and figure out why you feel the way you do depending on what you eat and it gives you a sense of control, making it easier to make tweaks and adjustments along the way. Also, the sessions themselves were both insigthful and fun, which made it easier for me to retain all the information needed and aplying it to small objectives every week.
